Two people escaped from their burning home in Fresno Wednesday night.

The fire department was called to a home on Bullard near Van Ness just after 9:00 p.m.

Firefighters say the blaze had already blown out the window of a bedroom by the time they arrived.

Fresno Fire Battalion Chief Chuck Tobias said, "The home's completely covered by vegetation. We couldn't see the house, the amount of fire or even the amount of smoke that was being produced because of the weather conditions and all the vegetation around the home."

Two people got out safely from the home.

The fire was contained to the bedroom and caused considerable damage to that part of the house.

There's now word yet on what started the blaze.
