Fresno's Mayor is back in town after an invite-only trip to the President's historic meeting on immigration.
Mayor Ashley Swearengin was one of four mayors invited to hear President Obama's speech Tuesday in Las Vegas.
She returned confident about immigration reform and bipartisan talks.
“This is a really important issue for the city of Fresno and for our region and we've heard for
years from our agri-business leaders about the need to do something,” said Mayor Swearengin.
President Obama wants to improve border security, and crack down on employers who hire workers illegally, while creating a pathway to citizenship for 11 million undocumented workers.
Senators hope to draft a bill by the end of March.
