Local members of the police and fire departments visited the Fresno VA Hospital on Thursday to hand out Valentine's and thank the veterans for their service.

Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer said, "It's always nice for us to be able to come out and law enforcement and other folks in the community, to be able to provide them  with a Valentine's card that's been prepared by our Sea Cadets, and just to say thank you for their service to our country."

Dyer said one of the best parts of meeting with the veterans is hearing their stories of service.
