Highway 59 Closes After Fatal Accident

Highway 59 was reopened Saturday afternoon. It was closed after a head on crash that left one man dead. The crash occurred at 9:30 Saturday morning on Highway 59 near Sandy Mush Road. The California Highway Patrol says the big rig was heading north on the highway when a Honda crossed into oncoming traffic. The semi-truck and the Honda hit head on. The driver of the Honda was killed on impact and the driver and a passenger in the big rig suffered minor injuries. Highway 59 was closed down for three hours.
