Harry Baker showed up for his first court appearance on Tuesday.
The former Madera County Supervisor faces charges of a lewd act on a child. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Baker appeared in court in a wheelchair and wearing a surgical mask because he is recovering from recent surgery. As a result, baker has been excused from upcoming court appearances.
