Downtown Fresno could be getting a new $12 million dollar project.

Granville Homes announced plans for the new development that will surround the site of the former Met Museum building at Van Ness Avenue and Calaveras Street.

Granville unveiled the plans during Thursday night's ArtHop event.

GV Urban, a division of Granville Homes is behind the effort that calls for more than 80 residential units, including studios, one and two-bedroom apartments.

Construction could begin in the Fall.

Darius Assemi, president of Granville Homes said, "We're very excited about the Cultural Arts District in downtown. That's where our customers want to live and there's great opportunity and we also think that downtown, at least in this area is at a tipping point."
