Twenty three babies were given a proper burial in Fresno
The babies had been abandoned and left with no name for the Fresno County Coroner's office.
They were taken in by the by the Garden of Innocence and Fresno County to be laid to rest in West Fresno.
The partnership was made between the two in order for abandoned babies to be buried properly and with love.
“I wanted someone to hold these babies because I understood they were never held and I think that's really important to know that they were loved even for a brief moment,” Rochelle Hernandez said.
The non-profit gave each child a new name and made each child a homemade quilt and a personalized poem to be buried with.
