Additional police officers are on the streets of North Fresno, tracking down gang members.

“This particular location there's an address near here that's known as a bulldog hangout. We know there are gangsters who live here, we know there are gangsters who frequent here,” said Lt. Burke Farrah who leads the department’s gang unit.

The car that's been pulled over for a traffic violation is searched. So are the men inside to see if they're tied to recent crimes.

Two people were arrested earlier in the evening.

When gang officers served a search warrant, looking for a gang member wanted for robbery.

“The Bulldog gang members associated with that investigation kidnapped an individual and took him to an ATM and had him remove money,” said Sgt. Paul Cervantes, with the department’s gang unit.

North Fresno has also seen a number of gang shootings.

And there was one during this crackdown – at the Fast Trip gas station at Clinton and Chestnut.

Two groups shot at each other.

Officers found a car with a shattered window and bullet holes.

“We've seen a lot of gang feuding. That unfortunately typically ends up in gunfire sometimes that gunfire has collateral damage. So you have bullets going into vehicles and houses they weren't intended for,” Lt. Farrah said.

Luckily no one was hurt.
