Good news about a local domestic violence center hurt by the economy. Fresno’s Marjaree Mason Center is re-opening beds in its domestic violence shelter.
A $209,000 grant received from “First-Five” is meant to protect youngsters. More than 300 children stay at the shelter each year.
The center lost beds because of budget cuts, but now has 20 more. The grant will help shelter more than 200 women and children through the next year.
