Still no word as to what caused a huge fire near Belmont and Maple.

5 warehouses burst into flames around 2:30 pm Friday.

The smoke could be seen for miles. Firefighters say some sort of explosion triggered the blaze.

“We had to call in the reserve rigs that are in other parts of the city to fill in vacancies in the core of the city. We also had to suspend running medical calls for a short time while we were working on this particular incident,” said Coby Jones with the Fresno Fire Department.

The city’s water department had to come up and boost the water pressure to help firefighters battle the flames.

Fortunately no one was hurt.
