I have a Jim Sweeney story of a side of the coach the public never saw. I won the privilege of being an "honorary coach" one week at a Quarterback Club meeting. We got to go to the team dinner in the afternoon. Coach did not eat. There were three or four children there in wheel chairs. He picked them up in his big arms one at a time and walked around the dining room. He took them to every table and introduced them to each player by name. Later he pushed the chairs up front while he gave a pep talk and led the singing of "Bulldog Bred". I noticed a very short glimpse of him pushing a child in a wheel chair on the story the other night, but no mention of it. He had a real soft spot most people never knew about. Larry Schiller
