Touchdown celebration on the field and the Red Wave was rolling in the stands. It was an electric atmosphere at the stadium, exactly what season ticket holder Norm Case likes to see.
"It's a packed house which is good to see compared to the last two games that were here. there's a real energy in the place," Norm Case said.
Prior to the game, fans celebrated this homecoming game amongst family and friends.
"It's a social time. It's a really good time to get everyone together," Audrie Burgan said.
John Tapia had this Mountain West Conference matchup circled on his calendar for a while.
"You know because we did have a rivalry with them for years and years and this might be the last time we get to play them here at our stadium," John Tapia said.
Teri Hickman doesn’t know which way to turn. You see, she has children attending both Fresno State and San Diego State.
"It's so tough, so tough for me, but I'll do the best I can," Teri Hickman said.
But if she had to lean one way.
"There's a little something that tells me that you've gotta root for Fresno," Hickman said.
That’s what these guys like to hear. They’re former Fresno State football players who turned out for an alumni tailgate party.
"This was overdue. I have a lot of friends around that I played with and sometimes I go back to their homecomings and stuff and see how much fun they have and I'm glad to finally see it at our house," Charlie Jones said.
"This is awesome. It brings back memories. I'm not playing anymore so I'm missing the comradery and this is what I needed," Sam Williams said.
And with the season nearing the midway point, more cheering is what these Bulldogs need.
"What would you say to people who haven't made it out here this season? Get out here. Get out here and support this team," Case said.
