A fire has forced two people from their home tonight.

Fire fighters were called to the home at Bryan and Clinton in West Fresno around one this afternoon.

The fire started in the rear of the house and destroyed most of the property inside.

Firefighters say the residents were lucky they weren't hurt in the blaze.

The people inside the house, two adults with their dog , they weren't even aware a fire had started  until someone driving by saw the smoke, stopped, pounded on the front door and they got out of the house at that time," Thomas Cope of the Fresno Fire Department said.

The house is said to be a complete loss.
