Fresno attorney, Kenneth Cavin, has bailed out of jail after Clovis Police arrested him on allegations of having child pornography on his computer.

The 57-year old practices family law at an office in Fresno’s Fig Garden Village.  Cavin has had his own law practice since 1995 and specializes in divorce and child custody cases.  Ironically, now he's in need of legal help.

Officers arrested Cavin Wednesday afternoon during a traffic stop near the intersection of Fowler and Tollhouse in Clovis.

“They made that vehicle stop yesterday to make the arrest.  They knew it was his car and they knew he was in it," said Janet Stoll-Lee of the Clovis Police Dept.

Cavin lives in a neighborhood that sits right next to Clovis High School.

We approached the dark entry way of his home Thursday evening and rang the doorbell, but no one answered.

A relative of the attorney, who did not want to be identified, tells CBS47 he is a married man who has three grown children.  He also has as an adopted teenage girl who no longer lives at home.

Our source says this child pornography investigation began back in February of 2010.  During that time, police served a search warrant at Cavin's home and seized multiple computers.

"They took evidence out of those computers.  Some very disturbing evidence," said Stoll-Lee.

Police say on the hard drives were videos and photographs of children being sexually abused.

"A lot of this is downloaded off the internet and for every image there's a victim," said Stoll-Lee.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children actually identified one of the victims as a child they've been looking for.

"It's just tragic anytime you have cases like this because they're child victims.  The child abuse seen in some of the photographs is just tragic," said Stoll-Lee.

The U.S. attorney will likely handle this case.  Suspects involved in crimes of this nature are often charged on a federal level so they can receive more severe punishment.
