The Mariposa Public Utility District now says an electrical problem caused the fire that destroyed a 100-year-old building in Mariposa.

The fire happened on May 11th and destroyed the Pizza Factory along with several small businesses, a coffee shop and the Mariposa Arts Council.

The 9,000 square foot building built in the 1920s was a total loss because the fire spread so quickly due to its age.
