The hunt is on for the gunman who shot and killed a local high student Monday night.
Marquis Sutton was a senior at Edison High School.
He played a defensive back for the school football team.
Sutton was shot and killed on the sidewalk across an apartment complex in Central Fresno just after 7pm.
Family and friends were at the scene distraught.. yelling for answers.
One man who identified Sutton as his brother came back to the scene after Sutton was pronounced dead at the hospital.
“He was a good kid never been arrested no crime anything…I don't know. I just pray we all just come together…just tired of it…very tired that's why I changed my life,” said Vincent Andrews.
Fresno Police Lt. Jon Papaleo the victim was taken to the hospital when officers came on scene.
Sutton’s football coach Ricky Manning said, " I just left that kid after practice at 6:30 and I got this news before i made it home. This is devastating for our team and our community.”
