The Clovis Police Department gave folks a first hand look into the dangers of texting and driving.
They set up an obstacle course at 7th Street and Pollasky on Saturday. They demonstrated how distracting it can be to text and drive.
A Clovis Traffic Officer, John Weaver, says "We put somebody on the course, gave them a quick message to send to me or my partner's cell phone, and they had the entire time to do this. It was successful only because nobody was able to accomplish it."
The demonstration was so popular that the police department had to end the event early because they ran out of free t-shirts.
