A deadly police shooting in Fresno is under investigation.
The suspect was hit by a single gunshot fired by one officer near Clinton and First.
The incident started as a chase on the freeway and then through some neighborhoods. The chase ended when the suspect crashed into another car.
It's known at this time why the officer fired at the suspect. Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer said, "We again do not know the details of the altercation between the officers right before the round was fired, other than the suspect was accelerating rapidly and you could see where the tires had been spinning in an attempt to get away."
The suspect was a 27-year-old parolee who's served time in prison for burglary.
Police found a stun gun in the truck and a meth pipe on the suspect.
