The California Small Farms Conference covers topics on family farming, marketing, sustainability and more.
It’s the 26th year for the conference, but the first time in two decades it’s been in Fresno.
Organizers say they move the conference each year so small farmers all over the state get turns having it nearby.
It continues through Tuesday in downtown Fresno.
Managers representing some of the largest Farmers’ Markets in the state are in Fresno talking to Farmers at the conference.
Speakers present topics on growing food, packaging it, marketing food as well as business practices.
New technology is also featured.
Conference organizer Allen Moy says, “If someone’s coming with their CalFresh benefits how can you open up your sales to them so that you’re not losing that opportunity to make that sale.”
