Mixed reaction to a bold statement posted high enough for all to see.
It's placed right outside the Lyons Magnus building in Downtown Dresno owned by Bob Smittcamp, clearly stating his opinion on the President.
it reads: "This business was built without government help...Obama can....well....you get the point.
"The language is meant to draw attention to the fact that under Obama administration, our country is bankrupt," Bob Smittcamp said.
It's this recent statement President Obama made regarding successful businesses that prompted him to post the strongly worded sign, and Smittcamp says he has no regrets.
" The sign is simply to make people aware that small business owners don't agree with that statement," said Smittcamp.
The Democric party says the Presidents statement was taken out of context.
" Nobody has achieved what they achieved by themselves. They've had support in one way or another. That's the message the President was trying to convey," said Brandon Sisk of Fresno Democratic Party.
Political analyst Don Larson believes these types of messages can backfire no matter what political party it comes from.
" It's a reflection on the individual making the statement than they are the person they are attacking," said Larson.
The Democratic party says while everyone is entitled to their own opinion there's a thin line between freedom of speech and disrespect.
" We need to respect the office of the President. While we are entitled to our own opinion, we need to remain respectful," Sisk said.
Smittcamp stands by his sign and the right to publicly display his opinion.
" It's meant to draw attention to the policy of Obama. Has nothing to do with office of President," said Smittcamp.
