Students at Clovis High School are being trained for careers in the construction industry.

28 students are working on a project, building small houses that will be sold as sheds and play houses.

A concrete slab was poured on the campus Thursday where the students will begin construction.

All the buildings are built to code so the young people are trained for future careers in construction.

The construction technology class is an elective and the district says students who take it end up doing better in their other classes and are more likely to graduate.
