A tip led drug agents to ten acres of marijuana, concealed in a corn field in Selma.

Detectives bulldozed the field Friday.

They say it took growers months to pull it off.

The operation, once common in the mountains is now on the Valley floor.

CBS 47’s Lemor Abrams reports from the corn field.

A Fresno County Sheriff's helicopter overhead made sure drug agents on the ground didn't miss a thing.

There was a lot to see.

This ten acre corn field… marijuana growing out of every stock…was just the beginning.

“It's very obvious when you have weed and corn like this that's its not a legitimate crop and then this is what the corn looks like now and so these people had no intention of ever processing this corn. It was to conceal marijuana,” Lt. Rick Ko said.

Marijuana hidden so well, it took agents all day to pull plants and stash trucks.

Lt. Rick Ko walked us through the field and the operation.

He showed us the abandoned house used for processing the plants, the tractor trailer with a large tank used to water the plants, and the old camper the suspects slept in.

Detectives say the suspects are from Salinas, and believe they stole the trailer from Salinas.

The landowner tipped off authorities. He’s not in trouble.

The bust was part of Operation Mercury which spans six valley counties.
