Selma police are looking for two suspects after an attempted kidnapping Thursday morning.

The Selma Unified School District is warning families about the attempted kidnapping.

The student was walking to Abraham Lincoln Middle School when two men drove up near the intersection of Pine and Locust Streets.

The school district is asking everyone in the community to be on alert and for parents to talk to their children.

Every student in Selma Unified received a letter that said the victim was walking to school around 7:30 a.m. when two Hispanic males in a white van approached the child.

The driver started asking the victim questions while the passenger got out of the van and tried to pull the victim inside the vehicle.

The victim got away and ran home to call police.

The school district wants the entire community to be on alert and to talk to your children to never stop and speak to anyone that they do not know or recognize.

The police are asking for your help identifying the suspects.

The van is described as an older model, blue and white van, which is not a mini van. It also has an air conditioning type unit on top of the van that's spray painted blue. The suspects are described as Hispanic males in their 40s and 50s. The driver has a very thick Spanish accent. The passenger was wearing a beanie and big dark sunglasses with very dirty dark hands like a mechanic.

If you have any information or spot this vehicle you're urged to call 911 immediately.
