Investigators have two suspects and the car that was involved in Wednesday morning's fatal hit and run on Highway 99.
The woman killed has been identified as 24-year-old Regan Johnson of Reedley. She was working on Highway 99 at the Clinton overpass when she was struck and killed around 2:00 a.m.
CHP officers have detained a man and a woman and are questioning them about the fatal accident.
Officers also impounded the 2007 Nissan Altima, believed to be the car involved in the deadly collision.
The car was spotted by a citizen, parked at an apartment complex off Ashlan Avenue, who noticed the damage to the Nissan and saw the mirror was missing, which was noted in the news reports.
CHP says by the time they got to the car, it was already covered up, so the suspects were trying to conceal the evidence.
Officers arrested 26-year old Alyssa Villanueva, believed to be the driver that hit Regan Johnson. She is now facing murder charges. They also arrested her step-father, Antonio Rios, who was booked for attempting to hide evidence of the crime.
Friends of Regan say she went to Kingsburg High School and recently graduated from Fresno State with her teaching credential. She was working with the road crews as part of a summer job.
