Fresno Police have arrested a known gang member, Christopher Roberts, 21, of Fresno.
Investigators have also identified a second suspect, 35-year old Dwayne Dodson of Fresno. Both are believed to be responsible for an armed robbery and a murder.

Around 11:00 Thursday night, a 45-year old retail clerk by the name of Kashmir Manes was shot and killed.  He was working at the Super 1 Foods at Tulare and 7th St. in southeast Fresno.

Friday, the convenience store was closed down, but that did not stop people in the neighborhood from dropping off flowers and candles to honor the clerk.

“We just called him Boss Man.  Hey Boss, hey Boss,” said Jose, a regular customer at the store.

Kashmir Manes worked at the store more than 20 years.

“He knew me by name and that made me feel welcome and he knew a lot of my friends around the neighborhood and he was just an all around good person,” said Jose.

During the robbery, Manes died and his co-worker was hit in the head with a blunt object.  He is expected to be ok.

“Everybody is in a state of shock,” said Bob Bhaurla of Elite Liquors.

Bob Bhaurla owns two liquors stores in the city.  He and his workers put in long hours everyday.

“We have to be careful walking out and coming in,” said Bhaurla.

He says his business is so dangerous because of the types of customers it attracts.  Many walk in drunk or high on drugs.

“Whatever they have used, once that's gone to their head, they cannot think straight,” said Bhaurla.

Bharula tries to avoid confrontation at all costs.

“Just simply say please leave the store,” said Bhaurla.

And if they are so bold as to pull a gun, he'll simply give them what they want.

“Money is nothing, it can be earned but if health is gone, everything is gone,” said Bhaurla.

Police have identified a second suspect in the case.  He is 35-year old Dwayne Dodson of Fresno. Anyone with information of his whereabouts can call the Fresno Police Department at (559) 621-7000.
