A cooking fire is to blame for an apartment blaze in Fresno Sunday night.
The fire happened around 6:30 p.m. when some grease caught fire at the Casa Blanca Apartments near Marks and McKinley.
when the people living there tried to put it out, it continued to grow.
Fresno Fire Battalion Chief Johnathan Chew said, "Unfortunately they utilized water which caused the fire to grow."
The fire damaged four units and affected 5 families.
Damage is estimated at $60,000.
