Pouring rain and heavy winds slammed into the Valley around 5:30 Tuesday night.

"I don't like this weather, it's awful," said Angelique Fernandez.

After experiencing a few days of nice weather out, residents had to pull out the extra layers for the thunderstorm that passed through.

"It just came out of nowhere," said Breanna Gonzalez.

Beiden Field at Fresno State was supposed to have crowds cheering for the Diamond Dogs, but instead the game was drowned out by the rain and cancelled.

Although this weather can be just an inconvenience to some, wet roadways are also hazardous for drivers.

"When I was jumping into the 180 from 99, my car skid off the road," said Eddie Lopez.

Eddie Lopez said the scare has prompted him to drive with caution.

"I'm going to take the roads instead of taking the freeway tonight, that's for sure," said Lopez.

But it doesn't take an almost accident for drivers to lay off the gas when roads are slick.

"Everybody drives so fast when everybody should probably be going below the speed limit," Fernandez.

Most people we spoke with said, while the rain is much needed, they're really just looking towards warmer days.

"I'm really looking forward to being able to swim and hang out with friends and it not being so cold," Gonzalez.
