A large amount of Methamphetamine is off the streets of Fresno tonight.

A quarter pound of the drug along with a loaded gun and some cash was seized by officers tonight.

It began with a traffic stop on Belmont and Third Street. A car was pulled over for a faulty brake light.

"This is atypical and what I mean by that is, normally what we find is individuals who have you know, several grams but we're talking a quarter pound.  We're talking something in excess of over 100 grams of crystal methamphetamine,” Sgt. Paul Cervantes said.

Officers ended up searching the vehicle and found the drugs

Officers say the street value of the drugs is five to 10 thousand dollars.

They say the driver of the car, 33-year-old Matthew Murray, is a suspected gang member.
