Six units at the Peachwood Apartments were destroyed by fire and at least 10 others were without power because of the blaze.

The fire started in the bedroom of one of the units at Peach and Olive in Southeast Fresno around 9:00 a.m. Monday morning.

The woman who lives in the unit where the fire started was not home at the time so the fire spread to the roof and then to the surrounding units.

CBS47 spoke with the resident who said she was ironing earlier and saw sparks so she unplugged the iron and left to go to the doctor.

The Red Cross was on site assisting the displaced residence with temporary housing.

There were no injuries.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause and damage estimates.
