Two adults and a child are recovering after an overnight fire in Fresno.

The house fire started around midnight Monday night, near First Street and Clinton Avenue.

There were five people inside the home at the time of the fire.

One person was awake and escaped out a back exit and broke a window in the front of the house to help everyone out.

Thomas Cope with the Fresno Fire Department said, "Two adults were transported with burns. One was smoke inhalation and the other was burns to the hand. And then a 4-year-old child was also transported for smoke inhalation."

Everyone is expected to be okay.

The house did not have any working smoke detectors.
