One Jailed and Another Dead in Selma Traffic Accident

A Hanford woman is in jail after her car crashed head on into another while under the influence of prescription drugs that left one person dead.

The accident took place around 6PM Saturday on State Route 43 and Davis Avenue, south of Selma.

According to CHP, Linda Fairbanks, was driving southbound on State Route 43 when she drifted into northbound traffic and crashed head on with another car causing a small pile-up.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, while his passenger, a young girl, was transported to Community Regional Medical Center with major injuries.

Fairbanks was arrested for driving under the influence of prescription drugs and causing the death of another person.
