The Merced County Sheriff's Department says a 48-year-old man was arrested on Sunday for allegedly kidnapping his 26-year-old sister at knifepoint and sexually assaulting her.
Deputies say the suspect drove to the Los Angeles area with another man and kidnapped his 26-year-old biological sister at knifepoint.
“He basically threatened her and said if she didn't do what ever he told her to do that he was going to kill her,” said Merced County Sheriff’s Deputy, Tom MacKenzie.
Deputies say they brought the woman back to a converted shack in Planada and held her captive.
“Forced her to perform sexual acts with him all day on Saturday. He left Sunday morning to go get breakfast,” said Deputy MacKenzie.
That's when they say the woman was able to escape and call for help.
Deputies say the suspect is facing multiple charges and if convicted could spend life in prison.
“Kidnapping, rape by force or fear, rape of a relative and then incest, and also false imprisonment,” said Deputy MacKenzie.
The suspect is being held on a million dollar bond. Deputies say he did confess to the kidnapping and rape.
“His reasoning behind it was that he said he was in love with his sister,” said Deputy MacKenzie.
Deputies are still looking for the man who rode up with the suspect to Los Angeles. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Merced County Sheriff's Department.
