Police in Merced are searching for a group of people after a brutal beating death.
Witnesses say a group of seven to fourteen men attacked a man on East 15th Street near the Highway 99 overpass.
The victim was with his son when the group approached them and started shouting gang slogans before they attacked.
The son escaped and was able to call police.
The man was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Merced Police Department.
