A robbery suspect is behind bars tonight after messing with the wrong restaurant worker in Fresno.

Police say a man walked into the Little Ceasars on Clinton near Brawley and acted like he was going to buy a pizza.

But he damanded money from the clerk.

The clerk refused, the suspect pulled out a knife and a fight began.

The clerk was able to hold down the man until officers arrived.

"It could turn deadly as it could have happened in this case. This guy had a knife and attempted to stab our clerk, we're just lucky they where able to wrestle it away from him and take him into custody," Sgt. Brian Valles of the Fresno Police Department said.

The suspect faces charges for robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
