Photographer Claude "Pop" Laval is known for his photos of Central California.

Because of his work, we can now look back at the Fresno Fair 100 years. He took his first photos of the Fair in 1912.

To commemorate the anniversary, the Pop Laval Foundation did something new at this year’s Big Fresno Fair. Instead of one exhibit, they hung large banners of Laval’s work all over the fairgrounds.

Pop’s great-granddaughter Elizabeth Laval says, “The Pop Laval foundation has worked over 10 years trying to take a hundred thousand glass and nitrous cellulose negatives, and put them in a format to be preserved. These are decaying we are a nonprofit and we really need everyone's support in the community to keep pictures like this.”
