Tensions rise just after members of Clovis City Council outline plans to review The Firing Line's Conditional Use Permit.
"That's really what the planning commission is there for, is to try to balance the needs of in this case the user and the area residents," said Clovis Director of Planning Development Services, Dwight Kroll.
Bruce Meredith lives right behind the range and you can actually hear shots as he makes his case.
"At times you'll hear ten or more guns going off and that's when it's real irritating," said Meredith.
Neighbors say they have nothing against the range itself, just the noise that comes with it.
"Kids should not grow up in a neighborhood having to listen to firearms," said neighbor, Bill Carl.
The Firing Line owner, Jacob Belemjian says he's spent a lot of money from his own pocket to try to fix the problem.
"The neighbors have said they've noticed no difference, which I don't believe," said Belemjian.
A recent noise study by the city of lovis appears to back him up. The range was found to be in compliance with noise standards, but some say their property values are taking a direct hit.
"It's feasible that we'll probably take a $10,000 hit. So yes, it does concern us," said Carl.
Belemjian said some neighbors are grasping at straws.
"None of these things they said was gonna go wrong have gone wrong, so now the last thing they have to hang onto is noise," said Belemjian.
The Planning Commission will meet February 25th to further review the issue. It will be the only thing on the agenda.
