Local officers arrested 98 people during a 5-day gang operation.
The arrests were made by the multi agency gang enforcement consortium, made up of officers from the Fresno Police Department, California Highway Patrol and the Fresno County Sheriff's Department.
Of the 98 arrested, 44 are gang members.
Officers also recovered 12 illegal firearms.
So far, there have been 3 murders in Fresno this year, down from 8 this time last year.
