Someone should show Forbes the recent National Geographic article highlighting Fresno's recycling program as being one of the best on the planet. Yes, our air quality is poor, but agricultural pollution and the valley's geography both negatively affect this outcome, something we can have only so much control over. Speaking of agriculture, we're using all that dirty water to irrigate thousands of sq. miles of farmland and in turn, feeding the world with it. Perhaps that writer should be more cautious the next time he/she eats a fruit or vegetable.

Why can't we put all of the people on welfare and unemployment and have them pick up garbage around the city?

The sad part is, they are not even talking about all of the garbage on the sides of roads.
