Doctors warn the flu is about to hit California.

We're only midway through the traditional flu season and for the most part, California has had it pretty easy.

But experts are predicting the virus is headed our way.

The number of flu cases in the southwest have doubled over the past few weeks and the valley could be next.

"Now we haven't seen an increase in the number of patient visits due to flu like illness yet, but we should anticipate that we will see an increase very soon, so now is the best time for people to recieve the flu vaccine," Edward Moreno of the Department of Public Health said.

The health department has a vaccination clinic on Fulton Mall.

It's open from eight to four every weekday, but is closed for an hour from noon to one for lunch.

Anyone with questions can give them a call at the number on your screen, 600-3550.
