Deadly early morning crash near Hanford

The California Highway Patrol is looking into a deadly crash between a car and a big rig. 

The accident occurred around 4:30 a.m. Friday morning at Houston and 9th in Hanford.

The big rig was heading south on 9th and hit a sedan heading east on Houston and they collided in the intersection, killing the driver of the car. 

Sgt. Robert Brudell with the CHP said, "The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene. We had a Toyota Corolla that was eastbound on Houston, here at the intersection of 9th Avenue. The two vehicles collided within the intersection."

Investigators are trying to determine the driver at fault.

The driver of the truck was not hurt in the crash. 

No names have been released.

The roadway was cleared around 6:00 a.m.
