Ma Ming and his wife Fei Xin are visiting from China. They never
expected the unthinkable to happen.
"We can't buy anything. My little girl, just one month...she needs diapers, food,
everything. We already really need it," said father, Ma Ming.
While shopping at WinCo on Peach and Kings Canyon in Fresno, they stepped away from their cart for just a moment, but a moment was all it took for thieves to strike..
"Just that time my wife forget to take her pink shoulder bag," said Ming.
Surveillance video shows a male and female suspect looking through the bag. At one point the man picks the bag up from the cart and then puts it back. Then, the woman comes along, pushes the cart and puts the bag under her coat.
The couple says it contained their passports, two wallets and over $10,000 in cash.
"We lose everything. With no passport we can't do anything," said Ming.
The couple says they've tried calling the Embassy in China, but all they get is a
voicemail. For now, they're hoping to see their pink bag again with what was inside.
"Not for us because this little baby is a US citizen. Not for us...for US citizen," said Ming.
