It was an early Thanksgiving meal that started with a prayer for the Fresno Rescue Mission who spent the day serving at least 800 meals to those in need.

The kitchen was filled with numerous trays of mashed potatoes, stuffing, turkey, and of course dessert.

A plate full for those who are less fortunate, and it was all made possible by the gracious donations from the community.

" We have about 80 turkeys and some money to purchase more," Janet Steinhauer said.

"It's beautiful when everyone gets together and helps people that need help," Samuel Stevens said.

The Fresno Rescue Mission credits their faith for that.

"God will take what the community gives us and multiply it and makes it enough for us," Steinhauer said.

The same goes for the Poverello House.

"Oh my goodness it's been incredible. We've had a tremendous outpour of support from the community," said Kathryn Weakland said.

Just a week ago the Poverello house only had 15 turkeys, now they have over 1,500 and donations keep pouring in.
