Two suspected carjackers are in jail tonight after leading police on a high speed chase through the city of Fresno.

The stolen car came to a crashing halt inside a construction site near Maple and Dakota.

Officers say the robbery happened in a Tower District neighborhood.

A man used a gun to take the car from a woman while evading police.

The suspect drove up to a hundred miles an hour with his lights off, luckily nobody was hurt.

"Ultimately we want everyone to go home safe. Citizens, even the suspects and officers as well, so we brought a dangerous incident to a successful conclusion," Lt. Phil Cooley said.

The suspects arrested are a man and a woman.

Police also recovered a gun.
