2-Year Old Olly Ajaluni looked like a ball of joy as he watched the Visalia Rawhides Tuesday night, with his entire family by his side.
At birth, Olly was diagnosed with Histiocytosis, a disorder in which the body produces too many white blood cells and forms tumors all over the body.
“Now he's doing ok. He's got a total of 12 lesions in his body. They're mostly in his skull around his brain,” said Mom Shannon Ajaluni.
Olly has been in Chemotherapy at Madera Children’s hospital for the last 6 months. But since the disease reached his liver, it’s a race against time to raise money for treatment at San Diego Children’s hospital.
When an Usher Mary Serrato heard the news, she swung into action. Mary Seratto organized a Rawhide fundraiser for Olly, set for July 11th.
“We're just out here to support. We got involved she was a past employee... that makes her special,” Serrato said.
Olly’s mom was humbled.
I really wasn't expecting this. I basically wanted to share that he could come to a baseball game because he was in isolation for the six months,” Ajaluni said tearfully.
A 30-year Rawhide fan cheered him on, and plans to make it to Olly's fundraiser.
“That's great. It'll really do good for that lady and help out that little boy,” said Ellen Luttrell.
The Ajaluni family capped the night with a show of Independence Day sparkle and celebration, hoping for a big show of support July 11th, when the Rawhides donate $2 for every ticket sold. All to make sure Olly is able to stick around for plenty more games to come.
