Some daring crooks smashed into a local store and made off with the ATM inside.

The heist was caught on surveillance video from start to finish and the Madera County Sheriff's Department hopes the images will lead to the arrest of the three criminals.

The thieves are seen smashing the window, entering the store, and then loading the ATM into the bed of their Chevy pickup.

The crime happened just after 4:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The store owner rushed to his store minutes after his alarm alerted him, but it was too late.

The store is located at the Table Mountain Chevron off Highway 41, a location that should have been a tough target for thieves. "41, especially at that time of morning believe it or not. It's pretty well traveled. It's a huge commuters route, so it's hard to believe someone didn't see something," said Erica Stuart with the Madera County Sheriff's Department.

Anyone with information on the crime is asked to contact the Madera County Sheriff's Department.
