Looking for a career that's in demand and pays well? You may want to consider becoming a heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration technician. Also called H-V-A-C techs, these professionals install and maintain the heating and cooling systems virtually all homes and businesses have. The surge in building new homes and offices has added to the demand for repairing existing systems, so H-V-A-C skills are truly in need. This demand, as well as the specialized knowledge, means competent technicians are well paid. Advances in technology require intensive training to become an expert, but once you've mastered the basic theories, annual continuing education classes can allow you to keep your knowledge current. You'll be glad to know that this training is available through technical schools and colleges in your area. If you're considering a career change, you'll be glad to know evening, as well as day, classes are usually offered. Here's another plus- financial aid may help you pay for your training. You may qualify for private, federal, or state loans and grants. Then, after your training is complete, many schools also offer assistance in job searches.
