Jason Isaacs has landed the title role in the CBS pilot The Surgeon General, TVGuide.com has learned.
The medical drama, which focuses on the highest-ranking doctor in the United States, was created by Samuel Baum (Lie to Me), who will write and executive-produce the pilot.

Isaacs is known for playing Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter movies, as well as other inlcuding The Patriot. He most recently appeared on television in the short-lived NBC drama Awake.
