It's a foggy start to the Martin Luther King holiday.
A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect from 2:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Visibility could be less than a quarter mile. Some areas visibility will drop to less than 200 feet. Fog will affect the entire San Joaquin Valley, but will be thickest near Hanford, Corcoran, Merced, Mendota, Selma, Laton, Kerman and Caruthers. It will make driving difficult, especially on centrally-located highways like the 152, 180, 198, 41, 43 and 99.
Weather in the San Joaquin Valley remains stagnant thanks to a large area of high pressure over California.
Cold air sinks to the Valley floor causing frost and fog in the morning.
Afternoons will continue to be nice, with above-average highs.
There’s a chance for rain and high mountain snow next weekend.
Stay safe!
