"No concern for the record. To be honest with you I know he's close, I have no idea how close he is," said Tim DeRuyter on Wednesday. "Neither does Coach Schramm. Robbie wants it that way and that's the right thing to do for the team."

In 1993, Robbie Rouse was two years old when Ron Rivers became Fresno State's all-time leading rusher.

Since then, the Bulldogs have had Michael Pittman, Anthony Daigle, Wendell Mathis, Bryson Sumlin, Dwayne Wright and Ryan Mathews in their backfield.  All those guys and a few others (like Lorenzo Neal, Lonaye Miller) have cracked the top ten.

But no one rushed for more yards than Rivers.

He set the record in 1993.  And Rouse is about to set a new one.  The assumption is he'll reach 3,473 career yards against Colorado on Saturday (kickoff at 5pm) since he's only 78 yards away.

"It'd be a great accomplishment, especially since you said Ryan, and especially other great running backs like Ron who set the record," said Rouse. "And Lorenzo. For me to be mentioned with all those guys' names it's a great honor. Basically I just think about winning. And just doing whatever I can for my team. I know if I do that, then the record will take care of itself."
