No, he's not related to David and Derek Carr, but Myles Carr will be Fresno State's newest quarterback when he signs his letter of intent next week on national signing day.
Myles Carr wore number eight in high school, that was David’s number, and currently belongs to running back Robbie Rouse.
Myles says he'll wear either number 7 or 13 at Fresno State.
Those aren't bad choices either, since Tom Brandstater and Paul Pinegar wore those numbers.
Bulldogs new offensive coordinator Dave Schramm visited Myles and his family at their home in Arcadia Monday night.
Myles says he's a Bulldog 110 percent, and he talked about how excited he is and that famous last name of his in our one-on-one interview Monday.
GEORGE TAKATA: what does it mean to you to become a fresno state bulldog - was this your number one choice all along?
MYLES CARR: I mean, it's a dream come true, really - i've been wanting to be a bulldog since I was a sophomore in high school so it's really a blessing and a dream come true to be able to accomplish that - coach schramm and coach deruyter and the rest of the coaching staff - they really explained to me that they have a will to win and that's something that I want to be a part of - I have to win - I can't - I don't like losing - I can't stand it.
GEORGE TAKATA: do you find it kind of ironic that you're the new carr in town, so to speak?
MYLES CARR: yeah - it's definitely ironic - when I got there on my visit I met derek (carr) and he just joked around and said you could be the third (carr) quarterback to get your name up in that stadium so it's pretty cool.
